Science is booming in many parts of Asia − but it is too easy to focus only on the giant economies in the region and overlook other research powerhouses.
This Nature Special shines the spotlight on five strong science centres in East Asia: Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. This group is incredibly diverse in priorities and approaches — but all see science and technology as keys to their future, and together they are playing an expanding part in the global research enterprise.
